Invitation to Community Living

history-header

The mission of Harless Center at Central Place is to provide off-campus housing, open to all West Virginia University students, that promotes the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual growth of both residents and members of the campus community.

Harless Center

Harless Center is named in honor of the late James H. “Buck” Harless who served as lead donor and honorary campaign chair during early phases of this project. Harless Center is a nonprofit ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Morgantown and the Westminster Foundation of WV housed in Central Place Apartments and responsible for leasing and providing programs for residents and WVU students. Harless Center includes common areas, a commercial kitchen, chapel, meeting rooms, administrative offices, and a large multi-purpose room for gatherings and fellowship.

Central Place

Central Place is a private 234 bed faith-based apartment complex adjacent to the Downtown Campus opening in May of 2015. The two bed/two bath apartments are open to all WVU students regardless of their faith traditions, background, and beliefs. Central Place will be distinguished from other off-campus housing for WVU students due to the presence of Harless Center, Inc in the complex.
